Picture this: You step off the plane in early June, just as Morocco settles into that perfect summer sweet spot – warm, golden days without the scorching heat.
The air is alive with the scent of spices, the hum of the medinas, and the promise of adventure. Welcome to Outdoors Together® Morocco 2025, where hiking meets culture, and a little safari magic is thrown in for good measure!
This trip was specifically designed with the hiker in mind, one who also loves a bit of leisure. Whether you’re conquering rugged trails or unwinding in a vibrant marketplace, every moment of this adventure balances activity and relaxation, perfectly curated for the Outdoors Together® community.
Morocco is on fire (in the best way possible) and poised to surpass Egypt as Africa’s top travel destination in 2025. We’re diving in to experience all of its crown jewels: the electric pulse of Marrakesh, the coastal charm of Casablanca, and the breathtaking beauty of the High Atlas Mountains. We’ll hike trails that wind through rugged peaks and picturesque valleys, explore ancient cities like the Medina of Fez and Marrakesh’s UNESCO-listed wonders, and soak in the beauty of Morocco’s stunning mosques and palaces.
And what’s a Moroccan adventure without a little desert magic? We’ll saddle up for an unforgettable camel trek through rolling dunes, culminating in a starlit desert safari dinner – where the only thing richer than the tagine is the conversation around the fire.

Itinerary Timeline
After we check into our cool and cozy digs and take some time to relax, the afternoon and into the evening are all your time. Wander the maze-like streets, chill at a rooftop café, or catch some Zs with a quick nap.
We’ll kick off this adventure tonight with a welcome dinner at a local gem, where you’ll get your first taste of authentic Moroccan flavors – the perfect start to your North African journey!
Madness, Magic, And Everything In between
Today, we’re diving headfirst into Marrakech’s rich history and chaotic charm with a guided tour of the city’s most iconic spots.
First stop: Madrasa Ben Youssef, a 14th-century Islamic college with jaw-dropping tilework and intricate cedarwood carvings. Then we’ll explore Dar el Bacha, a lavish palace-turned-museum showcasing Morocco’s finest craftsmanship.
Next up: the Medina, the beating heart of Marrakech. This old town is a maze of narrow alleys, colorful stalls, and hidden courtyards all steeped in history.
Post-lunch, we’ll jump back into the action at Jemaa El Fnaa, the city’s legendary main square. Snake charmers, storytellers, and bustling souks send us into the best-ever sensory overload. We’ll finish off the tour by weaving through the Souk Semmarine, where you can haggle for everything from handcrafted leather goods to vibrant ceramics.
After a whirlwind day, we’ll head back to the hotel to unwind before enjoying a delicious dinner in-house. The rest of the night is yours – will you tuck in early or head out for more?
Into the Atlas Mountains
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and soak in your last morning in Marrakech. Whether you want to sleep in, grab one last mint tea in the courtyard, or snap final pics of the city’s dreamy riads, this is your time to recharge.
Midday, we’ll check out and hit the road, trading the city’s chaos for the peaceful landscapes of the Ourika Valley, nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. The drive itself is a stunner, with winding roads, jaw-dropping valley views, and tons of traditional villages.
Once we arrive, we’ll check in at our hotel, a charming retreat surrounded by nature. Then, the rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy, whether you choose to take advantage of our hotel’s amenities or step into the surrounding nature.
Tonight, we’ll gather for a relaxing dinner at the hotel, savoring local flavors as the sun sets behind the peaks. After that? Perhaps a quiet night under the stars. Tomorrow, the adventure continues on.
Peaks and Valleys
We’re lacing up our hiking boots for an unforgettable trek through the High Atlas Mountains. Led by an expert local guide, we’ll explore Oukaimeden, Morocco’s highest ski resort (yes, Morocco has skiing!), before making our way through the breathtaking landscapes of Mount Toubkal National Park, home to North Africa’s tallest peak.
Along the way, we’ll pass through the traditional Berber villages of Asni and Tahanaout, where life moves at a slower pace. This is your chance to see the real Morocco beyond the tourist hotspots.
Midway through our trek, we’ll be welcomed into a Berber home for a traditional lunch, a special opportunity to experience the region’s legendary hospitality and cuisine.
After a full day of exploring, we’ll return to our accommodation for some well-earned rest and a delicious warm meal. Ahhh – what a day!
Monkeying Around
We hit the road this morning toward one of Morocco’s most jaw-dropping landscapes: the Dades Valley. This drive is next-level scenic, with winding roads through rugged mountains, tiny Berber villages, and panoramic desert views.
We’ll lace up for a hike through Monkey Fingers Canyon, named for its unique rock formations that look like…well, guess! This loop trail is a mix of towering canyon walls, natural rock bridges, and epic viewpoints, making it a dream for photographers and thrill-seekers alike.
After our trek, we’ll continue our journey deeper into the desert, arriving at our stay for the night, the perfect place to unwind after a long day.
Tonight, we’ll gather for dinner at the hotel, sharing stories from the road before a relaxed evening
Dreaming In The Desert
We leave behind the rugged canyons of Dades and make our way toward the golden dunes of Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara.
Once we reach our destination, a traditional welcome tea and some time to relax await.
Now, it’s time for a camel trek into the dunes of the Sahara, one of the most iconic Moroccan experiences. Ride through the golden sands of Erg Chebbi, watching the landscape transform under the fiery hues of sunset.
A dreamy desert retreat nestled among the dunes awaits our arrival. Check into your tent, soak in the surreal surroundings, and prepare for an unforgettable night.
Dinner is a full-on Berber experience, complete with traditional music, drumming, and maybe even some dancing under the stars. Then, get ready for stargazing and campfire tales that you’ll remember for a lifetime.
Finally in Fes
Awaken to the unforgettable sight of the Sahara bathed in golden light. After breakfast at camp, we bid farewell to the dunes for the journey toward Fez, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart.
Along the way, we’ll stop in Errachidia, a small desert before heading into the lush Ziz Valley. This stunning oasis, lined with thousands of date palms, feels like a mirage in the middle of the arid landscape. We’ll also visit Ain El Ati, a famous desert spring with a fascinating underground water system.
Afterwards, we’ll continue our scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Cedar forests, rolling green hills, and perhaps some unique wildlife are all along the route, making this journey as much about the landscapes as the destination.
By evening, we’ll arrive in Fez and check in at our riad, filled with intricate tilework and an old-world Moroccan vibe. After a long travel day, we’ll unwind with dinner at the hotel, then enjoy a relaxed evening to reflect on an epic day of incredible landscapes.
Fes-tastic Day Of Exploration
Fes is not just any city, but a living time capsule, and today we’re stepping straight into its 1,200-year-old history.
First up: the majestic Royal Palace, home to Morocco’s king when he’s in town. While we can’t go inside, the golden gates alone are a work of art. From there, we’ll explore the Mellah, the historic Jewish Quarter, where stunning balconies and synagogues tell the story of Morocco’s Jewish heritage.
Next, we visit the University of al-Qarawiyyin, one of the oldest continuously operating universities in the world. Then, we step into the Al Attarine Madrasa, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture, where every inch is covered in intricate tilework and cedarwood carvings.
We continue the journey into Fez’s Medina, the largest car-free urban area in the world. It’s a maze of nearly 10,000 alleyways, filled with hidden courtyards, centuries-old mosques, and shops selling everything from brass lanterns to handmade carpets. No trip to Fez is complete without visiting the tanneries, where leather has been dyed by hand for over a thousand years.
By evening, we’ll return to our riad to unwind. Dinner will be at the hotel, and then the night is yours – the city looks totally different by night!
Concluding At The Coast
We bid farewell to Fez and hit the road for Casablanca, Morocco’s modern heartbeat.
En route, we’re making a stop in Rabat, the country’s political capital. Our guided tour of Rabat takes us to the Hassan Tower, an unfinished 12th-century minaret that was meant to be the world’s largest. Next door, visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a stunning marble tomb dedicated to Morocco’s beloved former king. Our last stop here is the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a fortress perched over the Atlantic with blue-washed alleys.
Upon arrival in Casablanca., we’ll jump into a guided tour of the city, starting with the Hassan II Mosque. Sitting right on the Atlantic, this architectural wonder is one of the largest mosques in the world, with intricate tilework, a towering minaret, and a prayer hall big enough to hold 25,000 people. Next, we’ll check out Mohammed V Square, the city’s central plaza, where French colonial architecture meets Moroccan design.
By evening, we’ll check in at our hotel and partake in a final group dinner at the hotel. It’s our last night here in Morocco, and Casablanca is your canvas to create whatever your heart desires.
So Long, Morocco
After one last breakfast, it’s time to pack up and say goodbye to this incredible adventure. We’ll check out of the hotel and take a group transfer to Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) for departure.
Our journey comes to an end here, but the memories are certain to last forever. Safe travels – until the next adventure!

Best trip of my life! We were supposed to go on a trip to Bolivia but had to cancel it last minute due to the unrest in Bolivia. We managed to find this amazing tour 2 days before we were scheduled to fly out and Karen was supportive throughout the whole process. Our last minute tour was a blessing in disguise because the highlight of the trip was trekking to Perito Moreno Glacier. This experience was the best thing I've ever done in my life! Our guide on this experience Jorge was so friendly! Also, our guide in Buenos Aires Marines was amazing as well, so funny and helpful. I would definitely want to book with them next time I go to Argentina! Thanks for these experiences of a lifetime Say Hueque!

Country and Travel FAQs
Is Morocco safe for first-time travellers?

Do I need a visa to visit Morocco?
Citizens from many countries—including Australia, the UK, USA, Canada, and most of the EU—can visit Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. Always check current requirements before travelling.
What language do people speak in Morocco?
The official languages are Arabic and Amazigh (Berber), but French is widely spoken. In tourist areas, many people also speak English and Spanish, so communication is rarely an issue.

While Morocco is more liberal than some other Muslim countries, it’s respectful to dress modestly. For women, covering shoulders and knees is recommended. Lightweight, breathable clothing is best, especially in hot regions.
